I'm a Hippo...

Okay, let me explain.

The mascot of Hutto ISD is the Hippo. I have now been hired as a band director in Hutto, henceforth, I am now a hippo. Hurray Hippos!

Actually, I am VERY excited about the change. I will be working with some of the best directors that I have met, one of which was one of my high school band directors (and he is also one of the main reasons that I'm a band director now). I will actually be working under the direction of JoAnn Champion who was able to turn around a struggling program in under a year. Stacy Gist (my former director) is the Head Director at Hutto High School, and he also turned the high school into an award winning band in just under a year. The final director (not including myself) will be Christy Anderson, formerly from CD Fulkes in Round Rock ISD. I have also worked with her in the past, teaching private lessons for her students. She is a wonderful director and I am thrilled to be chosen to work with these wonderful directors. I hope to learn as much as possible from all of them

Now for a rant...

WHAT IS WITH ALL THE FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS?! I guess I can lump "January" in there too. In less than two months there is a total of...1, 2,3,4....9 birthdays! (Harriet Applewhite on Jan. 2nd, Judy Acuff on Jan. 20th, mine and Brett's on Jan. 23rd, Ellie [Tyfany's niece] on Jan. 26th, TBA on/around Feb. 2nd, Bailey Acuff on Feb. 7th, and Billy and Tyfany on the 23rd and 24th of Feb. [respectively]). Oops! Dang...forgot Ann Acuff's! She's in February too, and that brings the total to 10!!!

What's Wrong With You People!

I can neither confirm nor deny the existence in the past, present, or future of a birthday on or around the date of February 2nd. It is not my place to say anything...well, anything more...okay, forget everything I've said. And no...Tammie is NOT pregnant (don't get your hopes up mom).
